The challenge

Hilti jobsite reference metro Delhi India

The Delhi Metro aims to change the way people travel not just in Delhi, but in the whole of India. Its sleek, shiny and air-conditioned trains are heralding a “new era” as it says, of mass urban transportation in the country.

And it’s setting its sights high – aiming to have the highest number of stations with the longest metro system in the world, even surpassing London’s 150 year old tube in length, all within just a few years.

It’s now going through Phase III of its expansion.

But while building at the Nehru Palace metro station, it hit a snag. Some of the steel couplers became misplaced during building, and we were brought in to see what could be done.

OUR HILTI SOLUTION

The solution was to install post-installation reinforcement bars to give the structure more support and substitute the misplaced rebars.

We found that our Hilti HIT-HY 200 chemical adhesive was a good fit to fix in the post-installation rebars needed.
